Club Sportif Hamra Annaba commonly known as Hamra Annaba is an Algerian Championnat National Amateur football club based in Annaba. The club was founded in 1944 as USM Bône (Union Sportive Musulmane de Bône). The club changed its name after the country gained independence from France in 1962 from USM Bône to USM Annaba (Union Sportive Musulmane d'Annaba) due to the name change of the city from Bône to Annaba. The club later went under another name change from USM Annaba to Hamra Annaba in 1971, which has remained since. ==History== In 1964, playing under the name USM Annaba (Union Sportive Musulmane d'Annaba), not to be confused with the current USM Annaba (Union Sportive Médinat d'Annaba) (a new team created in 1983), the club won its first Algerian Championnat National.〔(Algeria 1963/64 )〕 In 1972, Hamra Annaba won its first Algerian Cup in the club's history by beating USM Alger 2–0 in the final.〔(Algeria – List of Cup Finals )〕 The club came eighth in the 2009–10 Ligue Inter-Régions de football – Groupe Est.〔http://www.dzfoot.com/news-6477/inter-region-js-saoura-wab-et-abs-champions/〕 The club was promoted for the 2010–11 season of the newly created Championnat National de Football Amateur due to the professionalisation of the first two divisions in Algeria.〔http://www.dzfoot.com/news-7244/amateurs-les-2-groupes-du-championnat-national/〕
